Chris works with professionals and business owners to define their goals and develop strategies to achieve short- and long-term objectives that are tax-efficient and manage risk.
Chris holds several academic degrees and professional designations that demonstrate his commitment to his clients and the field of financial planning.
Chris graduated from The University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business in 2009 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in Tax Law in October 2022. He is currently a candidate in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at Aston University (Birmingham, UK) undertaking research about optimizing financial planning for business owners.
Chris founded FocalPoint in 2018 as an independent financial planning firm. Prior to that, he was a financial advisor at a national insurance company.
Chris is committed to community service. He served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Southern Interior BC’s board of directors from 2021 to 2023 and as an elected school trustee on the Central Okanagan Board of Education from 2011 to 2018. He also volunteered as a senator on the UBC Senate and a Director of the UBC Alumni Association and the University Children’s Learning Centre Society.
Chris enjoys hockey and spending quality time with his young family in his free time. He lives in Kelowna, BC with his partner, Michelle, and his two daughters.
